The lyric for this song was written by my long time partner, Larry Tilander. It was written as an explanation to a little childs question as to why the toys she got at Christmas were never brand new. His answer to her, because Cedric, Santa's mischevious little helper sometimes played with the toys before Santa had a chance to deliver them. The tyos were extra special because Cedric had already loved them. 
We were lucky enough to have been invited to include this song on a music compilation that included artists like George Strait, CollinRaye with Johnny Cash, Montgomery Gentry, Joe Diffie and a few more. Very cool indeed!! Cedric went #14 in Europe that year and was amongst the most played songs that year.
This season (2004) Cedric is part of a compilation we have put together and have shipped to Americana radios stations that play and feature country music throughout the United States.
